From August 28 until September 11, Amsterdam squares all over town are turned into open air cinemas showing movies about and from Africa. Entrance is free. Look at the website for locations and screening times.

For this event, but also for the cinema version of the festival, from November 2-7, also in Amsterdam, the organizarion is s looking for volunteers. Information about this on the website is in Dutch only, but if you are interested: they are looking for ticket sellers, drivers, people at the information desk, et cetera. Hi Iris! I think festivals like these are good initiatives. You get to see movies that are not that mainstream, and screenings in public spaces enhance accesibility. Are there cool filmfestivals in the Philippines?
