My country, Albania, have only 20 year in democracy, after 50 years of communism and for this think, is very difficult do have an authentic freedom of young media. Here a lot of politician and criminals can call you all the time in phone and threat you for the article you wrote for they. My country has not a culture to respect e freedom of young media, because of 50 years of communism where wasn’t any free media and any free journalist. I m 21 years old, and I m working all the day to change this mentality, bit is very difficult, because 60% of journalist are the same journalist has work for the communism media and they can’t change this mentality. I m a criminal journalist, and all the days of my work I writ for murder, drug trafficking, prostitutions, corruption and a lot of this thinks. For somebody this is not a comfortable job, but I love it. I can tell to the people the true of this entire criminal situation we are living here. 3 or 4 time at weak, somebody calls me from the prison and ask me why I wrote for him. He threats me, he grieves me, but now this is a part of my body and is normal for me. This kind of people and a lot of this kind don’t help us to have the freedom. I m working in e new media, in e newspaper created in January, and for all of as working here is a very hard job, because we have to compete with the old newspaper. Anybody here helps the new media and the young journalist. If one student of journalism go to find e job, with 99% he can’t take that place, because the boss of media doesn’t like the young journalist; they are unknowns for the people who read newspaper, and for them this translate no sales. A lot of my friends are all the time looking to find a job, but nothing, they walk all the day and they knock on the doors but nobody responds. How we can pretend for the freedom of young media, when the first don’t approve this are the old journalist? How we can change our mentality, when the first don’t approve this are the boss of the media? The young journalist, are studding hard to find a place in media, but anybody open a door to them; anybody helps them, anybody needs them. They feel as neglected from reality in which they live and seek to find the future of their outside borders of Albania.

“It” takes time… Surely you do help, since political awareness is not easy without media. It would be interesting to check if there are other channels of communication that work.
INteresting Ivaylo, maybe not the common mass media but other ways such as blogs
, social netwwork, conferences, public hearings..
