This is a simple short post on some very gripping, grabbing-attention material which I have come across. Who came to my mind when I first saw it? YOU.
The first is a video produced by a gang of moviemakers, designers and writers with the greatest pedigree. Entitled “Coalition of the willing”, it explains how people can fight against the fateful global warming.
The animation elects the current capitalist system as the real villain of the piece in this case. The clock is put back and spectators go to the 1960s, learning how money embraced the “do it yourself” idea.
It may be valuable to bring it back again.
Making usage of the striking metaphor of a swarm of gulls, which act on mass to shatter the status quo, this animation is a must-see.
BP case: again
Secondly, some worrisome figures on oil spill, which I consider crucial to throw into our ring. I do not know how accurate they are, but the fact is that they are very eye-opening. It is really worth checking out. Click in the images to enlarge.
Please, tell me what you TH!NK.
UPDATED
Here you are: a fantastic video entitled "Symphony of Science - The Poetry of Life", sung by great names of science. Check out!

I am sometimes a boring conservative, but I have to say that one thing that has become a whole lot better the last couple of years are graphic display of information on the interent. I love all of thee that you are showing, and the internet is filled with them
What I th!nk? I think it is very important that a chart illustrates the statement you are making, not necessarily the reality. This doesn’t mean that you are lying - just that you have chosen certain information from a bootomless pool of avaliable numbers and facts.
That is what you have to do if you want to give the numbers a meaning - but everything that is beautiful is seductive. And information is beautiful
I am also fascinated recentlly by info graphic but on the other hand it’s really a first step to revolution… do you think we will soon have only ifno graphic instead of written form of information…?
I like this infographic http://www.visualeconomics.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/what-bp-could-buy.jpg
Thanks for your comments. Appreciated that.
I agree with you, @Daniel. It is not lying at all. It is just framing information on a more valuable context. And what the graphics show us is shocking!
@Iwona, I think they are a revolution for themselves, in comparison to some years ago. But strongly I do not believe they will replace written form of information. Only when it comes to statistics.
@Jan, superb this one you linked for us. Thanks!
I like this one: http://www.elpais.com/graficos/internacional/grave/cogida/Jose/Tomas/elpepuint/20100426elpepuint_1/Ges/
Nice indeed, even about other topic. This example kind of seals what you said previously. But I still think written information will keep going.
Guys, and I forgot to tell you: if you want to read a great book on oil companies and industry, take Seifert’s one. It is called The Black Book on Oil. I have it in German, but it is available in English too. It is worth having a look-see.
I’ve updated it. There is one last video at the end - The Symphony of Science, sung by great scientists of our time.
