Apologies for the silence on my blog this past week - it's been a bit manic.

I thought I'd try something a little different and share a selection of my favourite links with my fellow Th!nkers.

Jon Snow blogs on the “toughest, most harrowing assignment ever” – Haiti. Well worth reading.

An interesting, shocking, piece on gold mining.

Hillary Clinton on why women are key to US foreign policy while Bill Clinton apologies for how his policies damaged Haiti.

Interesting story about a child in the developing world suing for the use of his image without permission.

Since there seems to be a problem with your link to Bill’s apology allow me to blatantly advertise my own article about exactly the same: Free food, not trade wink I’d be very interested in the actual story at Washington Post if you can fix it.

    I loved the suing story!

And your format, Clare. Hope this doesn’t mean your rants are gone forever? Cause they’re being waited for wink

More rants are coming Giedre - been a HECTIC week in work but there are many rants brewing smile

Thanks for this Clare. I found the mining piece interesting because there are similar mining issues here in the Philippines.

Thanks Clare! I liked your last link, about the Ethical Christmas Trees smile Thanks for the links! Keep posting!
