I suppose it'd be no good if all designers decided to go 'green'. Vivienne Westwood recommends that people stop buying clothes; use clothes off of their spouse, and turn shirts/jumpers/sweaters up-side-down for a fashionable effect. Another way to reduce waste, but perhaps a little less 'new age'.

    Hmm would she have said that if she couldn’t make any profit out of it? If she wants us to stop buying, why doesn’t she stop making what we buy?
