Using the simple and ingenious inventions Emily Cummins wants to improve the quality of life. This british student invented "solar refrigerator", which works on a simple and long-known principle of adiabatic evaporation - water in the phase change from liquid to gas uses the so-called "latent heat of boiling, and this energy is removed from around the steaming liquid.

Bio: Emily Cummins, 22, is an award-winning inventor with a passion for sustainable designs that change lives. Her latest innovation is a sustainable fridge which is 'powered' by dirty water but keeps the contents dry and cool. Emily refined her fridge design in African townships before giving away the plans to benefit local people. Named as The Barclays Woman of the Year 2009, Emily is a final year Business Management student and Enterprise Scholar at Leeds University.

She won many awards for this invention, but she have another inventions. Her "watter carrier" is great invention for african women and children which often walk many miles a day to collect water using only one or two jerry cans.

Immediately after university She'd like to travel within the developing world, to learn more from the resourceful people who live there. This is great goal and I wish her good luck. Such people are few. I was suprised if I read a article in newspaper about this young girl. I looked for more information about this refrigerator and I found this name. Mohammed Bah Abba. He is nigerian teacher and won Rolex Awards for Enterprise for his pot-in-pot cooling system for refrigeration. This is a same thing! What do you think about this? Why is a young british girl more famous than nigerian teacher?
