Th!nk about it, blogging competition

Published 31st August 2010 - 7 comments - 5429 views -

Dear fellow bloggers,

it is already the last day of our Th!nk 3 blogging competition. In these months I learned really a lot, because I partecipitated to the initiative not because I was an expert of blogging or media and communication, but because I was deeply interested in the topic of this competition as well as interested in learning more on blogging and its world.

In these months, therefore, I learned from you how to write a blog (even if I still haven't understood how to upload a picture...), how to make it more interesting, how to choose the right title, the different strategies that Johan for instance taught me during the first night at dinner in Brussels in order to make your post popular (putting links, etc.). For me it was indeed learning something new, how the new media work, it was sometimes challenging, but at the end of the story, I feel like I grew up learning new methodologies.

I wanted to share with you my experiences, especially from my previous travels, researches, interviews mainly from Jordan and the Jordan River Valley, Eastern Africa, and Europe, as well as from the Graduate Study Programme of the UN in Geneva and the World Youth Conference of the UN in Mexico.

We all lived an intensive period of posting, reading, commenting, learning at the same time to see things from different point of views, being 100 bloggers with 100 different qualities. These differencies, where the essential element that created links, connections, interest, and that allowed us to grew and learn something new about new places and regions of the world as well as new ways of seeing challenges, the role of the UN or of the EU, the MDGs, etc.

I hope that you appreciated my posts, and that what I wrote was something new for you from that you learned new things.

Would be nice to keep posting, and probably I'll open a blog to keep in this direction, especially on environmental topics, including water and climate change / jorunalism.

Of course, would be nice to meet you in real life to pursue our discussions started here, and would be great to do so, while experiencing what we learned travelling in Africa, seeing new different culture, traditions, and challenges. Reporting to our fellow bloggers dylemmas, difficulties, but also sharing their best practices, hoping to be of any help to anybody.

As Gosia said in June during the last day of college, "i do not like to say goodbye in my life, because life does not end here; each and everyone has his/her own path to walk on and we never know, our paths might cross somewhere, sometime in life." And I am sure, I will meet many of you in my life (actually, last week at the World Youth Conference in Mexico I met one fellow blogger of Th!nk 3 that I met in Brussels in March...)!

Thanks again to everyone!

You could have used the community to put the question forward about how to upload an image. It would have been easy to explain this to you…..
Anyway, it’s too late now (unless you quickly want to add images to all your posts?? Hahaha).
Stay well and thanks for the debates.
