In 2nd of October Latvia will approach one surprising event - parliament elections. So far Latvia is called to be the most fragile politically from all Baltic countries.
There are already campaigning n the air, people tend not to think about elections and are trying to taste beutifull and surprisingly hot summer here. Time of holidays.
Soon we will start to see alot of ads on TV, hear them in the radio and just get upset and pissed more.
I am starting to read political programmes, check data about candidates. Abd with each step I am getting more and more upset and depressed. There are some people who have just secondary education, no job amazing debts and/or savings. And that makes me wonder and be surprised.
For about a year I was a person afected by media concidering political activities and change. Toaday i ahve this belief that something will change or we will work towards change.
Concernign this I hope that the first step is combating poverty on local level, becasue now in Latvia I see a lot of people who are not earning enough (even working a lot) to sustain a family .. Or a lot of desperate unemployed people.
I want to believe in change, in better future.
Do we need to think global, but act local?

Act local and global, the more holistic approach, the better. If you think only local, we may fall into an abyss of defending our own interests only (European) and this won’t allow the developing world to make it for the 2015 with the MDG’s.
Some argue though that leaving developing countries just for themselves would do them more good than harm.
