For a developing country, striking a comfortable balance between moving forwards, and not losing touch with the past, is no mean feat.
I went to Fez, Morocco, to experience an altogether less hi-tech way of life, and to find out about the challenges that face those determined to keep it that way:
I'm keen to hear what you th!nk. Is tradition important? Should it override modernising? Or can a balance between honouring tradition, and moving forwards be found?

Really good mini-documentary. I love Morocco and thought Fez was really eye opening (and eye-watering in the tanneries!). The reality of course is that old Fez sits along side new Fez which is far more modernised. You wonder how much of the medina is maintained as a tourist attraction rather than faith to culture.
I love the documentary - now I want to go there too!:) We should meet, btw;)
This is a very, very good piece of film.
Wow, Lara! That is a very nicely done video
Hope you enjoyed Morocco. It’s def on my list of places to visit.
Thanks everyone.
@ Jodi, my impression was that the old city is very much still going strong because the people there really believe in what they are doing. Only thing is, because of how rare their way is, it may well become a tourist attraction before long…
@ Sylwia, for sure!
thanks for inspiration how to use all the video materials I have. nice why of reporting
and like Sylvia - would love to go there
The topic reminds me of the song ‘Tradition’ from “Fiddler on the Roof’
Thanks Iwona
And Helena, funny, that was on my mind too whilst I was making it!
